MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:   

A Contractor Hino Product Planning Manager position is vacant to lead Hino product planning and market research activities for new and current models. The role is responsible for ensuring that product offerings are competitively positioned and aligned with customer needs, market trends and Hino business objectives. This includes model and specification planning, volume and market share planning, price image analysis, product positioning, marketing plan coordination, product information development and product project management.

 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Lead new and current model planning, including specification, volume, market share and price-image analysis.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, sales performance and customer needs to identify product opportunities.
  • Define target customers, product positioning and value propositions, and develop product marketing strategies.
  • Coordinate marketing plans and product launch readiness across relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare product briefs, marketing briefs, specification sheets and dealer bulletins.
  • Conduct and utilise market research to validate customer requirements and identify future product needs.
  • Manage product-related projects, milestones, risks, dependencies and management reporting.
  • Develop product and project presentations, including recommendations for management review and approval.
  • Coordinate cross-functional product planning activities and maintain accurate product information.
  • Oversee the supporting Assistant Manager or assigned portfolio and contribute to capability development.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPIERENCE

  • NQF Level 6 (Minimum 360 credits on level 8 framework) in Marketing or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in product planning, marketing planning, market research or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in market and competitor analysis, specification planning and preparation of management recommendations.
  • Exposure to product launches and lifecycle planning.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional product projects.
