PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

 

This role plays a critical part in ensuring that vehicle pricing remains competitive while effectively managing residual value risk. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting residual values at a vehicle level, developing and maintaining pricing systems and processes, and continuously monitoring market trends to support informed decision-making. The successful incumbent will also drive initiatives to improve pricing structures, assess new value-added products (VAPS), and contribute to strategic projects.

 

 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

 

  • Set and manage residual values for both new and existing vehicle models to balance pricing competitiveness and risk exposure.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve systems and processes for pricing and RV management.
  • Manage and optimise pricing elements, including fees, excess kilometre rates, and value-added products (VAPS) such as maintenance plans and insurance.
  • Assess the feasibility and pricing impact of introducing new VAPS offerings.
  • Monitor industry trends, including new and used vehicle pricing, and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Proactively identify pricing opportunities through benchmarking, market analysis, and engagement with industry stakeholders.
  • Ensure all pricing processes and systems are regularly reviewed, validated, and functioning optimally.
  • Prepare and present reports and insights on pricing performance and risk to management and relevant committees.
  • Lead and manage projects related to pricing and risk initiatives.
  • Support team capability by training and mentoring team members.
  • Develop and maintain relevant policies and procedures.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • NQF Level 6 (Minimum 360 credits on level 8 framework) qualification in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics, Business & Supply Chain Management, or related.
  • Analytics or Supply Chain background (minimum of 5 years).
  • SAP knowledge and experience would be advantageous.
  • Automotive industry knowledge and experience - Essential.
  • High degree of computer literacy – Essential.
  • Excel Advanced – Essential.
